A detailed description of the location of the trail appears in the booklet “A description of the Post Box walks of St Helena”, issued by the St Helena Nature Conservation Group and the government of St Helena.

Basic Trail Description and special attributes:

This is a stunning coastal walk, down the side of a long valley past a series of picturesque waterfalls (albeit with little water). There is a huge ‘hidden’ valley near the top, and a very broad beach at the bottom with pools for swimming and some interesting old military buildings. A fairly long walk down the side of a deep valley over loose earth and rocks. The path is actively eroding at the top of the valley and can be partially lost, particularly after winter rains. This walk should not be attempted without a guide.

Subjective QUALITY GAUGE of the trail. (A value of 5 = excellent / dominant feature, and 1 = negligible / absent)
